The PENN International V series is designed and manufactured in the USA. Precision machined from high-strength, lightweight, aircraft grade aluminum in our Philadelphia machining center. Our experienced crew has been designing and producing durable, high-quality reels in this facility since 1932. The fully machined stainless steel gear train is the biggest in the business. The Dura-Drag system results in a smoother start up and virtually eliminates hesitation, even under extreme drag settings.
International V and VW Single Speed reels have become the preferred choice of charter boat captains because of their ease of use and their dependability. Throw the lever into the strike position, set the hook, and crank like mad. Even the most novice of anglers and charters can handle that task of landing a trophy catch. Contrary to conventional wisdom, Single Speed International V and VW models are not slower than their two-speed counterparts and, more often than not, feature a gear ratio identical to the higher gear ratio of the two-speed models.

Since you can't walk into Penn reels in Philly anymore, this is the next best thing. Thanks for your services!!!!! Even parts for vintage reels. Delivery is super quick as well.

If you do not find what you are looking for do a Google search with Mystic Reel Parts in the search with your model. I have a Penn 285 and 9 and it took me to the exact page for both. Also have the reel schematics.

I luckily found MysticParts via a Google search. Their website is comprehensive and I was at a loss on what I needed. Fortunately the “contact us” option was user friendly. To my delight I got a personalized and VERY helpful response right away. She asked questions to fully understand my needs and then followed up with links to the right parts. We continued our email exchange regarding my second reel issue and, again, she was extremely knowledgeable and gave me both practical as well as professional solutions.
