On 950SSm: It is optional to use this Flat handled knob if you do not like the ball knob.
On 760, 760L, 750SSm and 850SSm: This is the standard handle

On 750SS, 850SS, 7500SS and 8500SS:
IMPORTANT! For Older 750SS, 850SS reels subbing to this part.
THE DIFFERENCE?? The original gear required an entirely different handle pivot in order to switch between right/left hand use. The newer gear and pivot can be used for either. To tell the difference between older gears, look at the long end of the gear shaft. On the older gear, the threads for the pivot go all the way up to the lip. On the newer gear, they are around 1/4" down in the shaft. The older pivot WILL NOT fit in the newer gear, nor will the older handle collar fit on the newer pivot (the thread diameters are incompatible).
IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER GEAR, THIS HANDLE WILL NOT FIT.
The above info applies only to the older model 750SS/850SS/7500SS/8500SS reels.
For those with the older main gear needing a handle, you can order a new main gear to make this handle work. If changing the main gear, it is also recommended that you change out the pinion gear so that the design change is fully compatible (also, the gears wear out together).
750SS uses 8N-750 (pinion gear was not changed, number 19-750)
850SS uses 8N-750 (pinion gear was not changed, number 19-750)
7500SS uses 8P-7500 and 19P-7500 (both changed)

I luckily found MysticParts via a Google search. Their website is comprehensive and I was at a loss on what I needed. Fortunately the “contact us” option was user friendly. To my delight I got a personalized and VERY helpful response right away. She asked questions to fully understand my needs and then followed up with links to the right parts.
