There is a design change note associated with this item:
49L Spool and Pinion ChangeThey changed pinions in recent years on the Aluminum spools, so this older chromed spool will only fit in an older reel that already has that type of spool.
DETAILS: This was a chrome over bronze spool with curved arbors and no venting, no peg for the line to tie off to. 60s or 70s maybe?
