Dog pin issue noted as corrected by Penn in 2016 per our Penn Tech Rep where the bridge dog pins had to be repeened into the plates with the later US metal releases.
Early 113HN Baja special reels:
The 3-113HN had smaller dog pin ends where they were held into the bridge plate.
This would cause the pins to not hold. It did not occur in every bridge but often enough to make Penn aware of the problem and correct it.
LATER RELEASE CHANGE:
When the US Metal Senators released US113, US113W US113N in 2014
Penn now being aware of the problem after that release, corrected this issue during 2016 on the 3-113HN bridges by peening them more firmly into place creating slightly wider pin ends to hold better.
There is some variation in the bridge dog pin ends from bridge to bridge, but the few older ones we had have been set aside to sell last and are not mixed with the regular inventory.
Good dog pin ends peened size ranges from 3.94 to 4.40 mm
